The 1.8 TFSI starts at a price of £18,170 and takes things up a notch power wise with 60 mph being reached in 7.6 seconds. The car has a top speed of 138 mph and a reasonable combined fuel consumption of 42.2mpg. The 2.0 TDI diesels will attain 60 mph in 8.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 129 mph and a combined fuel consumption of 55.4 mpg.
The Audi A3 Black Edition is a smart hatchback coming in at prices starting from £22,215. There is a choice of petrol in 1.8 or 2.0 TFSI form, or diesel with a choice of 138 bhp or 168 bhp 2.0 TDI. The 138 bhp TDI will zip to 60mph in 8.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 129mph and an urban driving fuel consumption of 42.2 mpg.
Drivers looking for an impressive exterior may like the Audi A3 Cabriolet. This soft top will certainly get you there faster with a 0 – 60 mph figure of 7 seconds and a maximum speed of 144 mph. It returns a very decent combined fuel consumption of 53.6 mpg.
Other models available include the S Line range of vehicles that differ mainly in the exterior looks rather than performance. The Audi A3 comes at quite a high price but good resale values show that it is worth paying for.
