Brechfa Forest is fast becoming a mountain biking destination........it has been one for years for
those ‘in the know’  but now, with one of  the three planned purpose built trails completed, the
opportunities for a wild day out are even better!

Look at the ‘Walking’ page to get more details of waymarked routes. It is easy to get lost walking
on forest tracks, so best to be armed with a GPS and map if you venture away from these  ....
but don’t let that put you off!  Whether horse riding or walking, there are some superb views and
variety of scenary, from thick conifer plantations to gushing streams, open vistas over fields and
residues of  ancient woodland area.

Many  local people use the forest for recreation  (it used to provide jobs too, but that seems
to be thing of  the past) .  It is big enough for us to be happy to share  it with you ! Maybe not so
happy to share the fishing ....but compromises have to be made!

The quiet lanes are good for cycling (especially if you like the extra exercise which comes with hills)
and for a quiet drive. The views from Llanllwni mountain in all directions are stunning -  well, they are
on a clear day whether in summer sun or with  glistening snow  on the Fans.
